About Apex and our Mission
Atlas Petroleum Exploration Worldwide, Ltd (“APEX”) is an international energy company with their corporate headquarters located in Houston, Texas and with management offices in Tunis, Tunisia. The Company was formed in 2003 to develop an international upstream oil and gas project portfolio. The initial growth strategy focused on exploration, production and development projects in the Middle East and North Africa, where executive management has solid relationships with both industry and government at all levels as well as extensive experience. The Company holds the Sfax Offshore Exploration Permit and is involved in the exploration for and production of oil and gas within Tunisia. The Sfax Offshore Exploration Permit contains the Ras El Besh Field Concession, as well as two other discoveries which are under appraisal.
Today APEX is continuing to pursue its initial business development strategy and is dedicated to developing an exploration and development portfolio with high growth potential in its focus areas, including, and primarily Tunisia. However, current geopolitical conditions existing in the Middle East and North Africa will present numerous future hydrocarbon prospects and opportunities which can and will provide strong investment returns and significant growth potential for those poised to be opportunistic. APEX is well positioned to evaluate the technical merits and resource potential of these opportunities, and to master the political and cultural challenges of the region. Accordingly, the management of APEX remains receptive and the Company opportunity driven.
In facilitating it’s growth strategy, APEX has attracted a superior team of seasoned and focused industry professionals with strong academic backgrounds. At the core of its assets, APEX’s technical team has the ability to “think outside the box,” and to push existing technology to a continually higher level by developing innovative plans to economically develop smaller and marginal oil and gas fields. The understanding of complex technologies, combined with their years of practical oilfield experience enables these professionals to look beyond traditional development methods.
APEX technical personnel are challenged to extend existing technology to mitigate risk, and to find the economic answers demanded by the Company's smaller and marginal field development strategy. This has helped position APEX to become a leader among smaller Independents becoming involved in the international oil and gas industry.
